Client Preparation Checklist for an Advanced Telon Online Class
Because different companies allocate responsibilities differently, this list is not divided up by departmental responsibility. The responsibility for coordinating the activities of systems programmers, DBAs, and classroom coordinators to provide the environment for this class should be handed to one person who becomes the contact person with CASE Integrators for the class.
The advanced class builds on the programs written in the introductory class, so these programs should NOT be deleted from the Telon Directory after each class. For this and other reasons, all prerequisites for the intro class are also required for this one. The following represent additional prerequisites for the advanced class.
The TLNIIS macro MUST be set to ABNORMALT=3.
The USREDITS macro must contain up to ten alpha field edits named TXTFLW# (where # is any numeric digit) with input extended parameters of TELON-EATTR-FEATURE ABT-PGM-GEN-TYPE SEGLOOP-CONTROL TPI-REPEAT.
A help text file (DB2 or DLI or VSAM) must be set up with a key of USERID + a binary halfword sequence field, and a single 75byte alpha data field. The name should be TRHELP#.
An abend info file (DLI or VSAM, DB2 as a last resort) must be set up with a key of TIMESTAMP + USERID and 20K of space for data.
For CICS, the following PPT entries are required, with appropriate PCT and RCT entries: TRCPT#HE, TRCPT#HU, TRCPT#AB.
