A Brief History of Telon

Telon was originally designed by Christiansen Systems around 1980.  Many features, like HELP and HOLD, were originally included at clients' suggestion, without much market analysis.  Since it was not clear exactly in what form the feature would be most useful to clients, it was delivered in what might be called prototype form.  In other words, Christiansen did the hard work of building the feature, but left it up to the client to fill in the details by customizing the macros.  Don Christiansen always intended to go back and complete the feature once he could see what the most popular form was.

After Pansophic took over, clients were discouraged from customizing macros, but no-one ever went back to fully exploit the feature.  Thus Telon is now full of beautifully designed features requiring very little work to make them really useful.

CASE Integrators has developed ways of exploiting these features without making macro changes.
